This is without a doubt the best sharpener I have used for colored pencils. You will have to fine tune the type of point you want for your pencils. This sharpener can give you extremely sharp tips all the way to a blunt tip. It is super easy to use, you pull the front out, push the button to insert your pencil, turn the crank and the sharpener stops when the tip you set is done. Again you will have try different adjustments to find the point you like but once there just leave it alone. Was recommended this sharpener so I am glad to get one.My first impulse upon buying colored pencils was to simply use a hand sharpener, so I bought the Strictly for colored pencils, Holds larger size pencils. point adjustsvery happy with itVery nice point after sharpeningQuality , powerful sharpnerThis sharpener does not disappoint. It gives a sharp clean point without “eating” the pencil. It works well on my Prismacolor and Polychromo pencils. My one issue is that the pencil holding mechanism is not locking initially. I know you put the pencil in and then move the machinist out, but occasionally the pencil drops out. Earlier models locked the pencil mechanism out, and then the pencil was inserted. It is still a good quality tool.I purchased this sharpener because of a review. I'm buying another because it's so fabulous with my colored and regular pencils.Quite reasonable. Somehow when it sharpens the cut off cone is slightly off-center the pencil, so 4 starts not 5I also have an electric sharpener also under Dahle brand and that one at about 3x the price sharpens better - on centerBut maybe I was just slightly more lucky that time aroundThis was a dire sharpener I am afraid. It was very rough on the pencils, and quickly broke. On the plus side, Amazon refunded me quickly, and without any fuss. Five stars for Amazon, but one for the sharpener.Bought to have on my desk at school - but the clamp to hold it steady is not very good, so it ends up sliding around. Actual sharpening of pencils is fine.We have been looking for a good pencil sharpener for a long while, tried different brands. All doesn't last. This Dahle is good. After several months, it is still very smooth & clean cut. Good German standard pencil sharpener. Definitely recommend it.Faulty and had to be returned
